After weeks of rumor and speculation, Nintendo officially confirms the date and time of the long-awaited September 2022 Nintendo Direct.


Nintendo has officially announced that the long-rumored September 2022 Nintendo Direct event will take place on Tuesday, September 13 at 9am PT. Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Nintendo has been gearing up to host a Nintendo Direct presentation this month, as it almost always hosts one in September, and now fans have official confirmation. Specific games have not been named for the Nintendo Direct, but Nintendo has shared some other details about what to expect.

Besides confirming the date and time that the September 2022 Nintendo Direct will take place, Nintendo also confirmed that the presentation will be around 40 minutes in length. Beyond that, the September 2022 Nintendo Direct will mostly focus on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter. While fall 2022 games like Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might be at the show, this seems to suggest that the event will mainly showcase Nintendo’s slate of Switch titles for early 2023.

The same leakers and industry insiders that have been insisting that a Nintendo Direct will be airing this month have also given fans an idea of what they can expect from the event. While Nintendo itself has not officially announced any games for the Nintendo Direct, insiders have said that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be at the show. And not only that, but it’s likely that Nintendo will finally give Breath of the Wild 2 its official title at the show.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 may not be the only big Zelda announcements for the September 2022 Nintendo Direct. Such ports have been rumored for years, so it will be interesting to see if they are finally announced at the September 2022 Nintendo Direct.

What else may be shown at the September 2022 Nintendo Direct is anyone’s guess. As it stands, there are no big Nintendo exclusives currently announced for winter, and so it seems fans may be in for quite a few announcements.
